The Hoover Huskies triumphed over the host Independence Patriots softball squad by a count of 8-0 in Friday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Huskies meet the George Washington Patriots (Charleston, WV) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, April 19. Hoover will attempt to upgrade on its 13-3 season record. The Patriots enter the challenge with a 8-5 record after their 8-6 league loss to Spring Valley (Huntington, WV).

The Patriots (14-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Sissonville (Charleston, WV). The Indians enter the non-league challenge with a 5-11 record. In their last challenge, Sissonville overcame Lincoln (Shinnston, WV), 14-11, in a non-league challenge.
