April 19, 2022: Downers Grove, IL 60516 Spectators at Tuesday's non-league match between the St. Charles East Fighting Saints (St. Charles, IL) and the host Downers Grove South Mustangs (Downers Grove, IL), witnessed St. Charles East's softball squad tip Downers Grove South by a count of 6-1.
The Fighting Saints now sport a 9-2 record. They play next when they host Wheaton-Warrenville South for a DuKane match on Wednesday, April 20. St. Charles East will face a Tigers squad coming off a 13-1 league win over Geneva (Geneva, IL). The Tigers record now stands at 7-5.
With the loss, Downers Grove South moves to 3-2 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Proviso East (Maywood, IL) to face the Pirates in a West Suburban - Gold match on Wednesday, April 20. The Pirates go into the match with a record of 1-2. Proviso East lost 12-2 in their recent league match against Berwyn/Cicero Morton (Cicero, IL)
