April 19, 2023: Salem, VA 24153 In Wednesday's league challenge, the Alleghany Mountaineers (Covington, VA) baseball squad the host Glenvar Highlanders (Salem, VA), by a final score of 7-2.
With the win, Alleghany upgrades its record to 9-0 on the season. The Mountaineers host Carroll County (Hillsville, VA) to battle the Cavaliers in a Three Rivers challenge on Friday, April 21. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a record of 6-4. Carroll County won 9-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Galax (Galax, VA)
With the defeat, Glenvar falls to 3-7 on the season. The Highlanders travel to Floyd County (Floyd, VA) to battle the Buffaloes in a Three Rivers challenge on Friday, April 21. The Buffaloes enter the bout with a record of 4-7. Floyd County lost 1-0 in their recent league bout against Alleghany (Covington, VA)
