Covington Lions (Covington, LA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Slidell Tigers (Slidell, LA), 7-6 in a league test.

With the win, Covington upgrades its record to 19-7 on the season. The Lions travel to Northshore (Slidell, LA) to battle the Panthers in a 5A District 6 test on Thursday, April 4. The Panthers come into the test with a record of 8-15. Northshore won 12-1 in their recent league contest against Hammond (Hammond, LA)

The Tigers now sport a 16-8 record. They take the field next when they host Fontainebleau for a 5A District 6 contest on Thursday, April 4. Slidell will play a Bulldogs squad coming off a 6-3 league win over Ponchatoula (Ponchatoula, LA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 12-14.
