April 2, 2024: Elkhart, TX 75839 Spectators at Tuesday's league battle between the Westwood Panthers (Palestine, TX) and the host Elkhart Elks (Elkhart, TX), saw Westwood's baseball squad knock off Elkhart by a count of 6-3.
Coming up next, the Panthers play the Groesbeck Goats (Groesbeck, TX) in a 3A Region III District 20 battle, on Friday, April 5. Westwood will attempt to move on its 6-12 season record. The Goats enter the battle with a 11-9 record after their 9-7 league win over Buffalo (Buffalo, TX).
The Elks now possess a 2-15 record. They take the field next when they host Mexia for a 3A Region III District 20 battle on Tuesday, April 9. Elkhart will play a Black Cats squad coming off a 5-4 league loss to Teague (Teague, TX). The Black Cats record now stands at 10-8.
