The crowd at Thursday's league battle between the Hayesville Yellowjackets (Hayesville, NC) and the host Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC), saw Hayesville's baseball team gain a win over Murphy by a tally of 11-3.

The Yellowjackets (7-4) will now prepare for their contest against Hiwassee Dam (Murphy, NC). The Eagles come into the Smoky Mountain 1A/2A battle with a 1-8 record. In their last battle, Hiwassee Dam was overwhelmed by Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC), 17-5, in a league battle.

Next, the Bulldogs face the Andrews Wildcats (Andrews, NC) in a Smoky Mountain 1A/2A battle, on Tuesday, April 14. Murphy will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record. The Wildcats enter the battle with a 14-0 record after their 13-3 league win over Swain County (Bryson City, NC).
