Jones Trojans (Beeville, TX) fans left the game pleased Thursday as they observed their baseball squad achieve victory over the host Robstown Cottonpickers (Robstown, TX), 7-3 in a non-league match.

With the triumph, Jones advances its record to 6-11 on the season. The Trojans host Rockport-Fulton (Rockport, TX) to play the Pirates in a 4A Region IV District 30 game on Tuesday, April 7. The Pirates go into the game with a record of 5-7. Rockport-Fulton won 2-1 in their recent league game against Ingleside (Ingleside, TX)

Next, the Cottonpickers play the Calallen Wildcats (Corpus Christi, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 31 game, on Tuesday, April 7. Robstown will attempt to improve on its 7-12 season record. The Wildcats go into the game with a 22-2 record after their 19-2 league win over Zapata (Zapata, TX).
