Maryland High School Softball - Liberty nudges Francis Scott Key
April 20, 2024: Sykesville, MD 21784 Liberty Lions (Sykesville, MD) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Francis Scott Key Eagles (Union Bridge, MD), 12-11 in a non-league challenge.
The Lions now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Winters Mill for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 23. Liberty will battle a Falcons squad coming off a 26-14 non-league win over Century (Sykesville, MD). The Falcons record now stands at 2-0.
With the loss, Francis Scott Key falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Eagles host Century (Sykesville, MD) to battle the Knights in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 25. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Century lost 26-14 in their recent non-league challenge against Winters Mill (Westminster, MD)
