Munster Mustangs (Munster, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Highland Trojans (Highland, IN), 6-5 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they host Andrean for a Northwest Crossroads challenge on Monday, April 25. Munster will battle a Fighting 59ers squad coming off a 20-6 non-league win over Lafayette Central Catholic (Lafayette, IN). The Fighting 59ers record now stands at 9-9.

With the loss, Highland falls to 5-4 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Valparaiso (Valparaiso, IN) to battle the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 23. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 8-1. Valparaiso lost 11-2 in their recent league challenge against Crown Point (Crown Point, IN)
