April 22, 2022: Richardson, TX 75080 Spectators at Friday's league battle between the Pearce Mustangs (Richardson, TX) and the visiting Nimitz Vikings (Irving, TX), saw Pearce's baseball squad knock off Nimitz by a count of 10-0.
Coming up next, the Mustangs play the MacArthur Cardinals (Irving, TX) in a 6A Region I District 7 battle, on Tuesday, April 26. Pearce will attempt to move on its 17-5 season record.
The Vikings now possess a 4-14 record.
Game Summary
Friday Night Lights - Baseball Edition, were indeed shining bright for the Mustangs as they clinched their first outright district championship in many years by dominating the Nimitz Vikings 10 to 0. Sophomore AJ Ripley got the call on the mound and went the distance to shutout the Vikings allowing just 3 hits while striking out 8. Senior Ryan Sessions had a game high 5 RBIs as he went 2 for 2 (double and a homerun) on the plate along with a walk to lead the Mustangs offense that included multiple hits by seniors Dean Balo, Chris Courrege, and Marshyl Stennet.
