Middletown Islanders (Middletown, RI) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting North Providence Cougars (North Providence, RI), 8-7 in a league test.

With the win, Middletown upgrades its record to 6-2 on the season. The Islanders travel to Johnston (Johnston, RI) to battle the Panthers in a Division 2 test on Tuesday, April 25. The Panthers come into the test with a record of 1-6. Johnston lost 14-5 in their recent league test against East Greenwich (East Greenwich, RI)

With the defeat, North Providence falls to 3-6 on the season. The Cougars host Prout (Wakefield, RI) to battle the Crusaders in a Division 2 test on Thursday, April 27. The Crusaders come into the test with a record of 3-3.
