Williamsville East Flames (East Amherst, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Starpoint Spartans (Lockport, NY), 8-2 in a league challenge.

The Flames now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sweet Home for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 23.

With the loss, Starpoint falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Spartans host Hamburg (Hamburg, NY) to battle the Bulldogs in a Section 6 Erie County II challenge on Tuesday, April 23. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 2-3. Hamburg lost 7-6 in their recent non-league challenge against West Seneca West (West Seneca, NY)
