In Tuesday's non-league bout, the Southwestern Randolph Cougars (Asheboro, NC) baseball team held off the host Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC), by a margin of 5-4.

The Cougars now hold a 8-12 record. They take the field next when they host Wheatmore for a Piedmont Athletic 1A/2A test on Wednesday, April 23. Southwestern Randolph will play a Warriors team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Uwharrie Charter Academy (Asheboro, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 6-13.

With the defeat, Montgomery Central drops to 7-13 on the year. The Timberwolves travel to Union Pines (Cameron, NC) to play the Vikings in a non-league test on Friday, April 25.
