In Thursday's non-league game, the host Dowagiac Chieftains baseball team scored a close 5-1 win over the Sturgis Trojans.

The Chieftains (2-10) will now prepare for their game against Vicksburg (Vicksburg, MI). The Bulldogs go into the non-league game with a 10-2 record. In their last game, Vicksburg was overwhelmed by West Ottawa (Holland, MI), 5-2, in a non-league game.

Next, the Trojans play the Paw Paw Redskins (Paw Paw, MI) in a Wolverine B game, on Tuesday, April 28. Sturgis will attempt to improve on its 1-10 season record. The Redskins go into the game with a 9-4 record after their 6-5 non-league win over Coloma (Coloma, MI).
