Illinois High School Soccer - Salem held off by Mt. Vernon
April 24, 2024: Mt. Vernon, IL 62864 The crowd at Wednesday's league test between the Mt. Vernon Rams (Mt. Vernon, IL) and the visiting Salem Wildcats (Salem, IL), saw Mt. Vernon's soccer squad get by Salem by a margin of 5-4.
The Rams now sport a 5-8 record. They play next when they travel to Carterville for a non-league test on Monday, April 29. Mt. Vernon will meet a Lions squad coming off a 7-0 league win over Pinckneyville (Pinckneyville, IL). The Lions record now stands at 9-3.
With the loss, Salem drops to 2-14 on the season. The Wildcats host Columbia (Columbia, IL) to meet the Eagles in a Cahokia - Mississippi test on Tuesday, April 30. The Eagles come into the test with a record of 12-3.
