Pennsylvania High School Lacrosse - Conestoga drops to Springfield
April 24, 2025: Berwyn, PA 19312 Springfield Cougars (Springfield, PA) followers exited the stadium satisfied Thursday as they saw their lacrosse team top the host Conestoga Pioneers (Berwyn, PA), 14-1 in a league game.
With the victory, Springfield advances its record to 13-1 on the season. The Cougars host Penncrest (Media, PA) to play the Lions in a Central game on Tuesday, April 29. The Lions come into the game with a record of 7-7. Penncrest lost 7-6 in their recent league game against Garnet Valley (Glen Mills, PA)
The Pioneers now sport a 4-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Upper Dublin for a non-league game on Saturday, April 26.
Game Summary
After an early Goal was called off for Conestoga, the next 10 minutes of lacrosse was slow. Just under the 2 minute mark of the 1st quarter, Jr Brad Barber got the scoring started followed by Sn Patrick Flaherty. Once the Cougars got going they never looked back. Springfield added 7 goals in the 2nd quarter, (Barber 2, Flaherty 2, Clark 1, Ellis 1, DiBlasi 1) leading them to a 9-0 lead going into the half. After a quiet first 8 minutes of the 3rd, Sn Tyler Henderson got into the mix with a goal. Sn David Keller and Fr Gabe Ryan followed suit in the 3rd. Jr Zack Wisneski and Jr Jarad Kennedy added 2 in the 4th boosting the Cougars to a 14-1 Victory over Conestoga. Another outstanding performance from the Cougars Defense lead by Seniors Billy Henderson, Brian Delaney, and Talan Varrasse as well as Senior Goaltender Jackson Kennedy.
