Florida High School Softball - Lake Placid holds off DeSoto County
April 25, 2022: Arcadia, FL 34266 Lake Placid Dragons (Lake Placid, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host DeSoto County Bulldogs (Arcadia, FL), 11-9 in a non-league challenge.
The Dragons now own a 11-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bishop Verot for a non-league contest on Tuesday, April 26. Lake Placid will play a Vikings team coming off a 1-0 non-league win over Riverdale (Fort Myers, FL). The Vikings record now stands at 11-10.
In their next game, the Bulldogs play the Lemon Bay Manta Rays (Englewood, FL) in a 3A District 12 contest, on Thursday, April 28. DeSoto County will attempt to upgrade on its 11-10 season record. The Manta Rays enter the challenge with a 10-7 record after their 10-1 non-league loss to Inspiration Academy (Bradenton, FL).
