Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA) supporters were pleased Thursday as they observed their soccer team knock off the visiting Mecklenburg County Phoenix (Baskerville, VA), 2-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Comets confront the George Washington Eagles (Danville, VA) in a Piedmont challenge, on Tuesday, April 30. Halifax County will attempt to move on its 7-5 season record. The Eagles enter the challenge with a 3-7 record after their 7-0 league win over Martinsville (Martinsville, VA).
