Game Story

North Carolina High School Softball - Watauga can't hold off East Burke

April 25, 2024: Connelly Springs, NC 28612

The East Burke Cavaliers softball team scored 15 runs and limited the visiting Watauga Pioneers to 14 in the Cavaliers non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, East Burke moves its record to 10-10 on the year. The Cavaliers travel to West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC) to clash with the Warriors in a Catawba Valley Athletic 2A game on Friday, April 26. The Warriors come into the game with a record of 11-9. West Caldwell won 14-3 in their recent non-league game against Patton (Morganton, NC)

In their next game, the Pioneers clash with the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A game, on Friday, April 26. Watauga will attempt to move on its 8-10 season record. The Huskies come into the game with a 11-7 record after their 14-4 league loss to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC).
