Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) fans were pleased Friday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), 1-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Huskies confront the Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge, on Tuesday, April 30. Ashe County will attempt to better on its 8-7 season record. The Panthers enter the challenge with a 13-0 record after their 9-0 league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC).
