Virginia High School Soccer - Mathews can't get by West Point
April 27, 2022: Mathews, VA 23109 In Wednesday's league game, the West Point Pointers (West Point, VA) soccer squad tipped the host Mathews Blue Devils (Mathews, VA), by a final score of 2-1.
The Pointers (6-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Northampton (Eastville, VA). The Yellowjackets enter the non-league challenge with a 5-4 record. In their last challenge, Northampton was edged by Arcadia (Oak Hall, VA), 2-1, in a league challenge.
The Blue Devils now have a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Middlesex for a Tidewater challenge on Monday, May 2. Mathews will confront a Chargers team coming off a 4-1 non-league loss to Nandua (Onley, VA). The Chargers record now stands at 10-1.
