North Carolina High School Softball - West Caldwell holds off Watauga
April 27, 2022: Boone, NC 28607 Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the West Caldwell Warriors (Lenoir, NC) and the host Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC), witnessed West Caldwell's softball squad tip Watauga by a count of 13-11.
The Warriors now sport a 9-11 record. They play next when they travel to East Burke for a Catawba Valley Athletic 2A match on Friday, April 29. West Caldwell will meet a Cavaliers squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to West Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 9-11.
With the loss, Watauga moves to 4-17 on the season. The Pioneers travel to Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC) to meet the Huskies in a Northwestern 3A/4A match on Friday, April 29. The Huskies go into the match with a record of 3-13. Ashe County lost 17-1 in their recent league match against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC)
