Fountain Central Mustangs (Veedersburg, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Covington Trojans (Covington, IN), 6-5 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 6-7 record. They take the field next when they host North Putnam for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 28. Fountain Central will face a Cougars squad coming off a 4-3 league loss to Northview (Brazil, IN). The Cougars record now stands at 11-6.

With the loss, Covington falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Crawfordsville (Crawfordsville, IN) to face the Athenians in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 29. The Athenians enter the challenge with a record of 1-12. Crawfordsville won 15-5 in their recent league challenge against Southmont (Crawfordsville, IN)
