Illinois High School Softball - Pope County bounces Carrier Mills-Stonefort
April 28, 2022: Carrier Mills, IL 62917 Pope County Pirates (Golconda, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Carrier Mills-Stonefort Wildcats (Carrier Mills, IL), 21-10 in a league challenge.
The Pirates now own a 5-14 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gallatin County for a Greater Egyptian challenge on Saturday, April 30. Pope County will face a Hawks squad coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Agape Christian (Energy, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 5-4.
With the loss, Carrier Mills-Stonefort falls to 0-9 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Hardin County (Elizabethtown, IL) to face the Cougars in a Greater Egyptian challenge on Monday, May 2. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 2-10. Hardin County lost 10-0 in their recent league challenge against Galatia/Thompsonville (Galatia, IL)
