Lowell Red Devils (Lowell, IN) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Portage Indians (Portage, IN), 7-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Red Devils now sport a 9-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to La Porte for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 29. Lowell will face a Slicers squad coming off a 16-0 league win over Michigan City (Michigan City, IN). The Slicers record now stands at 8-7.

With the loss, Portage falls to 7-9 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Lake Central (St. John, IN) to face the Indians in a Duneland challenge on Tuesday, May 2. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 15-2. Lake Central won 17-1 in their recent league challenge against Chesterton (Chesterton, IN)
