Illinois High School Softball - Newton nudges Hutsonville/Palestine
April 30, 2022: Palestine, IL 62433 Newton Eagles (Newton, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Hutsonville/Palestine Tigers (Palestine, IL), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.
The Eagles now own a 21-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Charleston for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 30. Newton will face a Trojans squad coming off a 9-4 league win over Effingham (Effingham, IL). The Trojans record now stands at 16-4.
With the loss, Hutsonville/Palestine falls to 14-3 on the campaign. The Tigers host Dugger Union (Dugger, IN) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 30. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 5-7. Dugger Union lost 4-2 in their recent league challenge against Hutsonville/Palestine (Palestine, IL)
