The Washington Hatchets triumphed over the host Pike Central Chargers softball squad by a count of 32-27 in Wednesday's league challenge.

Next, the Hatchets play the South Knox Spartans (Vincennes, IN) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, May 1. Washington will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record.

The Chargers (1-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Southridge (Huntingburg, IN). The Raiders enter the Pocket challenge with a 4-5 record. In their last challenge, Southridge nudged Northeast Dubois (Dubois, IN), 8-7, in a non-league contest.
