The Freedom Patriots baseball team (Morganton, NC), was overwhelmed 12-0 in Monday's league outing with the visiting Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC)

The Cougars now hold a 13-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ashe County for a Northwestern 3A/4A outing on Friday, April 8. Alexander Central will confront a Huskies team coming off a 23-1 league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 2-12.

Next, the Patriots confront the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) in a non-league outing, on Thursday, April 7. Freedom will attempt to advance on its 6-8 season record. The Golden Lions go into the outing with a 9-5 record after their 19-1 non-league win over Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC).
