Gilmer Buckeyes (Gilmer, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Center Roughriders (Center, TX), 4-2 in a league challenge.

The Buckeyes now own a 16-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Spring Hill for a 4A Region III District 17 challenge on Thursday, April 6. Gilmer will face a Panthers squad coming off a 7-6 league win over Henderson (Henderson, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 21-7.

With the loss, Center falls to 1-9 on the campaign. The Roughriders host Carthage (Carthage, TX) to face the Bulldogs in a 4A Region III District 17 challenge on Thursday, April 6.
