The Franklin Lions baseball team scored 12 runs and held the visiting Lexington Eagles to 8 in the Lions league win on Friday.

The Lions now hold a 16-3 record. They take the field next when they host El Campo for a non-league test on Saturday, April 5. Franklin will play a Ricebirds team coming off a 11-0 non-league win over Wharton (Wharton, TX). The Ricebirds record now stands at 9-6.

With the defeat, Lexington drops to 12-11 on the year. The Eagles travel to Thrall (Thrall, TX) to play the Tigers in a 3A Region III District 19 test on Tuesday, April 8. The Tigers go into the test with a record of 21-5.
