In Friday's league bout, the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA) baseball squad edged the visiting Jefferson Dragons (Jefferson, GA), by a tally of 5-4.

Next up, the Purple Hurricanes encounter the Oconee County Warriors (Watkinsville, GA) in a AAA Region 8 bout, on Tuesday, April 8. Monroe Area will attempt to upgrade on its 9-14 season record. The Warriors enter the bout with a 18-6 record after their 4-3 league win over Cherokee Bluff (Flowery Branch, GA).
