The Lafayette Commodores baseball team scored 12 runs and held the host New Hope Trojans to 1 in the Commodores league win on Friday.

The Commodores now hold a 14-7 record. They take the field next when they host Hernando for a non-league test on Saturday, April 5. Lafayette will play a Tigers team coming off a 4-3 league loss to Oxford (Oxford, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 13-8.

With the defeat, New Hope drops to 11-7 on the year. The Trojans host Clarksdale (Clarksdale, MS) to play the Wildcats in a 5A Region 1 test on Tuesday, April 8. The Wildcats go into the test with a record of 7-10.
