In Friday's league test, the Veterans Memorial Patriots (San Antonio, TX) softball squad the visiting New Braunfels Unicorns (New Braunfels, TX), by a tally of 6-4.

Next, the Patriots clash with the Wagner Thunderbirds (San Antonio, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 26 test, on Tuesday, April 8. Veterans Memorial will attempt to advance on its 16-2 season record. The Thunderbirds go into the test with a 4-17 record after their 17-0 league loss to Tivy (Kerrville, TX).

The Unicorns (18-6) will now prepare for their test against Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, TX). The Rangers go into the 5A Region IV District 26 test with a 14-1 record. In their last test, Smithson Valley held off Pieper (San Antonio, TX), 9-0, in a league test.
