Central Golden Eagles (Springfield, MA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mount Everett Regional Eagles (Sheffield, MA), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Golden Eagles now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Longmeadow for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 6.

With the loss, Mount Everett Regional falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Monument Mountain (Great Barrington, MA) to battle the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 7. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
