Corona del Sol Aztecs (Tempe, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Red Mountain Mountain Lions (Mesa, AZ), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Aztecs now own a 9-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gilbert for a 6A Central challenge on Thursday, April 6. Corona del Sol will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 10-7 league win over Corona del Sol (Tempe, AZ). The Tigers record now stands at 7-8.

With the loss, Red Mountain falls to 11-6 on the campaign. The Mountain lions travel to Mountain View (Mesa, AZ) to battle the Toros in a 6A East Valley challenge on Monday, April 10. The Toros enter the challenge with a record of 12-10. Mountain View won 12-0 in their recent league challenge against Dobson (Mesa, AZ)
