Illinois High School Softball - Rochester bounces Springfield Southeast
April 5, 2023: Rochester, IL 62563 Rochester Rockets (Rochester, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Springfield Southeast Spartans (Springfield, IL), 17-0 in a league challenge.
The Rockets now sport a 7-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Olympia for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 8. Rochester will face a Spartans squad coming off a 22-0 league win over New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly (New Berlin, IL). The Spartans record now stands at 6-1.
With the loss, Springfield Southeast falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Springfield (Springfield, IL) to face the Senators in a Central State Eight challenge on Tuesday, April 11. The Senators enter the challenge with a record of 7-0. Springfield won 15-0 in their recent league challenge against MacArthur (Decatur, IL)
