Ripley Tigers (Ripley, MS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS), 8-0 in a league test.

With the win, Ripley upgrades its record to 7-4 on the season. The Tigers host Booneville (Booneville, MS) to battle the Blue Devils in a non-league test on Saturday, April 9. The Blue Devils come into the test with a record of 7-13. Booneville won 3-0 in their recent league test against Alcorn Central (Glen, MS)

With the defeat, South Pontotoc falls to 11-9 on the season. The Cougars travel to Independence (Independence, MS) to battle the Wildcats in a non-league test on Saturday, April 9. The Wildcats come into the test with a record of 13-9. Independence won 16-1 in their recent league test against Rosa Fort (Tunica, MS)
