In Friday's league contest, the Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) softball team overwhelmed the host Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC), by a margin of 8-2.

With the triumph, Mountain Heritage moves its record to 10-1 on the year. The Cougars travel to East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC) to play the Cavaliers in a non-league contest on Monday, April 11. The Cavaliers come into the contest with a record of 5-8. East Burke won 1-0 in their recent league contest against Newton-Conover (Newton, NC)

In their next game, the Wildcats play the Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) in a Western Highlands 1A/2A contest, on Tuesday, April 12. Draughn will attempt to move on its 10-3 season record. The Warhorses come into the contest with a 8-3 record after their 13-11 league win over Madison (Marshall, NC).
