Washington High School Softball - Lakes bounces Mount Tahoma
April 8, 2024: Tacoma, WA 98409 Lakes Lancers (Lakewood, WA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Mount Tahoma T-Birds (Tacoma, WA), 29-4 in a league challenge.
The Lancers now sport a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bonney Lake for a 3A Pierce County challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Lakes will face a Panthers squad coming off a 19-6 league win over Silas (Tacoma, WA). The Panthers record now stands at 10-0.
With the loss, Mount Tahoma falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The T-birds host Spanaway Lake (Spanaway, WA) to face the Sentinels in a 3A Pierce County challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Sentinels enter the challenge with a record of 3-4. Spanaway Lake won 18-12 in their recent league challenge against Lincoln (Tacoma, WA)
Game Summary
Kaitlyn Vasquez's outstanding pitching and hitting along with the the rest of the teams offensive and defensive prowess power the Lancers to a decisive victory over the Mount Tahoma T-Birds. 3 Lancers were perfect at the plate K. Vasquez went 4-4 Q. Stout was 3-3 and P. Moli was 2-2. The Lancers scored 5 runs in each of the first two innings and never looked back. The Lancers pilled up 29 runs on 18 hits after giving up 4 runs in the bottom of the third the Lancers hit the gas and scored 18 in the fourth to put the game out of reach. Quinn Stout came in the game in the bottom of the fourth to secure the victory striking out 2 and pitching a no-hit fourth.
