The Narragansett Mariners baseball team scored 9 runs and held the host Ponaganset Chieftains to 7 in the Mariners league win on Tuesday.

The Mariners now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they host Middletown for a Division 2 test on Wednesday, April 9. Narragansett will clash with a Islanders team coming off a 10-0 league loss to East Greenwich (East Greenwich, RI). The Islanders record now stands at 1-1.

With the defeat, Ponaganset drops to 2-2 on the year. The Chieftains travel to Burrillville (Harrisville, RI) to clash with the Broncos in a Division 2 test on Wednesday, April 9. The Broncos go into the test with a record of 0-2. Burrillville lost 2-1 in their recent non-league test against Woonsocket (Woonsocket, RI)
