Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Zuni Thunderbirds (Zuni, NM) and the visiting Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM), saw Zuni's basketball squad knock off Newcomb by a count of 60-49.

With the victory, Zuni upgrades its record to 3-2 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds host Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM) to play the Cougars in a 3A District 1 challenge on Monday, April 12. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 1-3. Tohatchi lost 64-51 in their recent league challenge against Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM)

Next up, the Skyhawks play the Navajo Prep Eagles (Farmington, NM) in a 3A District 1 challenge, on Tuesday, April 13. Newcomb will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 5-0 record after their 64-35 league win over Crownpoint (Crownpoint, NM).
