The Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks (Maricopa, AZ) baseball trounced the visiting Cortez Colts (Phoenix, AZ), 18-6 in Wednesday's league challenge.

The Golden Hawks now own a 5-6 record. They take the field next when they host Tempe for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 15. Desert Sunrise will clash with a Buffaloes team coming off a 19-9 league win over Coronado (Scottsdale, AZ). The Buffaloes record now stands at 3-9.

With the defeat, Cortez drops to 3-13 on the year. The Colts travel to Westview (Avondale, AZ) to clash with the Knights in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 10. The Knights go into the challenge with a record of 6-9. Westview lost 17-0 in their recent league challenge against Estrella Foothills (Goodyear, AZ)
