Kentucky High School Softball - Caverna can't get by Washington County

May 1, 2026: Springfield, KY 40069

Washington County Commanders (Springfield, KY) supporters left the game pleased Friday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Caverna Colonels (Horse Cave, KY), 7-6 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Washington County improves its record to 12-11 on the year. The Commanders travel to Burgin (Burgin, KY) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league game on Monday, May 4. The Bulldogs enter the game with a record of 3-13. Burgin lost 15-5 in their recent non-league game against Paris (Paris, KY)

The Colonels now hold a 10-12 record. They play next when they host Thomas Nelson for a non-league game on Saturday, May 2. Caverna will play a Generals squad coming off a 22-2 league win over Bardstown (Bardstown, KY). The Generals record now stands at 3-8.
