Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA), 2-0 in a league test.

With the win, Giles upgrades its record to 12-5 on the season. The Spartans host George Wythe (Wytheville, VA) to battle the Maroons in a Mountain Empire test on Tuesday, May 17. The Maroons come into the test with a record of 2-14. George Wythe lost 26-3 in their recent league test against Grayson County (Independence, VA)

With the defeat, Galax falls to 10-8 on the season. The Maroon tide travel to Auburn (Riner, VA) to battle the Eagles in a Mountain Empire test on Wednesday, May 11. The Eagles come into the test with a record of 13-3.
