The Somers Spartans baseball team scored 10 runs and limited the host Cheney RVT Beavers to 9 in the Spartans non-league victory on Thursday.

The Spartans (6-9) will now prepare for their match against Hale Ray (Moodus, CT). The Noises go into the non-league match with a 3-14 record. In their last match, Hale Ray was edged by Old Saybrook (Old Saybrook, CT), 7-3, in a league challenge.

With the defeat, Cheney RVT falls to 8-9 on the season. The Beavers travel to Grasso Tech (Groton, CT) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 15. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 10-6. Grasso Tech 7-7 in their recent league challenge against Norwich RVT (Norwich, CT)
