Bayside Marlins (Virginia Beach, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Salem Sundevils (Virginia Beach, VA), 7-5 in a league challenge.

The Marlins now own a 5-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Green Run for a Beach challenge on Tuesday, May 17. Bayside will battle a Stallions squad coming off a 11-1 league win over Cox (Virginia Beach, VA). The Stallions record now stands at 12-5.

With the loss, Salem falls to 2-15 on the campaign. The Sundevils host First Colonial (Virginia Beach, VA) to battle the Patriots in a Beach challenge on Tuesday, May 17. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 11-7. First Colonial lost 2-0 in their recent league challenge against Kempsville (Virginia Beach, VA)
