Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL) followers left the game pleased Monday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Amboy Clippers (Amboy, IL), 8-0 in a non-league match.

With the triumph, Newman Central Catholic moves its record to 23-4 on the season. The Comets travel to Erie-Prophetstown (Erie, IL) to battle the Panthers in a non-league match on Wednesday, May 14. The Panthers come into the match with a record of 5-10. Erie-Prophetstown won 9-0 in their recent league match against Mendota (Mendota, IL)

The Clippers now possess a 11-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Morrison for a Northwest Upstate Illini - East match on Wednesday, May 14. Amboy will battle a Mustangs squad coming off a 10-4 league loss to Milledgeville (Milledgeville, IL). The Mustangs record now stands at 10-9.
