Massachusetts High School Baseball - Melrose sneaks past Wakefield Memorial
May 12, 2025: Wakefield, MA 01880 The crowd at Monday's league battle between the Melrose Red Raiders (Melrose, MA) and the host Wakefield Memorial Warriors (Wakefield, MA), saw Melrose's baseball team get by Wakefield Memorial by a tally of 1-0.
The Red Raiders (8-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Wilmington (Wilmington, MA). The Wildcats go into the Middlesex - Freedom challenge with a 1-12 record. In their last challenge, Wilmington was nipped by Shawsheen Valley Tech (Billerica, MA), 15-1, in a non-league challenge.
With the defeat, Wakefield Memorial drops to 10-4 on the year. The Warriors travel to Burlington (Burlington, MA) to clash with the Red Devils in a Middlesex - Freedom challenge on Tuesday, May 13. The Red Devils go into the challenge with a record of 6-6. Burlington lost 6-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Bedford (Bedford, MA)
