Virginia High School Soccer - Cumberland held off by Buckingham
May 13, 2024: Buckingham, VA 23921 The crowd at Monday's non-league test between the Buckingham Knights (Buckingham, VA) and the visiting Cumberland Dukes (Cumberland, VA), saw Buckingham's soccer squad get by Cumberland by a count of 3-2.
The Knights now hold a 3-8 record. They play next when they travel to Amelia County for a James River test on Thursday, May 16. Buckingham will meet a Raiders squad coming off a 5-3 league loss to Lunenburg Central (Victoria, VA). The Raiders record now stands at 4-7.
With the loss, Cumberland drops to 0-11 on the season. The Dukes travel to Prince Edward County (Farmville, VA) to meet the Eagles in a James River test on Wednesday, May 15. The Eagles come into the test with a record of 7-3. Prince Edward County won 4-2 in their recent league test against Nottoway (Nottoway, VA)
