The Greenbrier West Cavaliers (Charmco, WV) baseball trounced the host Midland Trail Patriots (Hico, WV), 9-2 in Thursday's non-league challenge.

The Cavaliers now own a 10-18 record. They take the field next when they host Mount View for a Coalfield A challenge on Monday, May 18. Greenbrier West will clash with a Golden Knights team coming off a 10-0 league loss to Richwood (Richwood, WV). The Golden Knights record now stands at 15-9.

With the defeat, Midland Trail drops to 9-18 on the year. The Patriots host PikeView (Princeton, WV) to clash with the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 15. The Panthers go into the challenge with a record of 17-13. PikeView won 4-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Greenbrier East (Lewisburg, WV)
